S. Pollak Audiological, PC
Serving the local community since 2002, Audiology Central/S. Pollak Audiological is equipped with State of The Art diagnostic testing equipment, for the diagnosis and management of hearing loss of all populations. Infants, toddlers, children and adults of all ages are routinely seen by our staff of licensed, professional, experienced Audiologists. We fit a wide range of hearing aids from a variety of manufacturers, including the most up to date technology. We conduct Central Auditory Processing Test Batteries on school age children.
You will find a welcoming environment when you come to our office, with front desk and professional staff who are eager to help you and your family with your hearing issues. We consult with your primary care physician, school and/or therapist, as per your instruction, in planning your care. Our Audiologists are compassionate and caring people who take the time to discuss how your hearing issues affect your life and how we can best help you.

Education/Training
Dr. Pollak received her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology (Known as Salus University) in October 2001. She received her Master's Degree in Audiology from Brooklyn College, CUNY, in June 1992.
Dr. Pollak continues to attend seminars and professional conferences to keep up to date on the latest advances in the field. She continues to supervise undergraduate and doctoral level students in Audiology.
Bio
Shirley Pollak has been practicing Audiology since 1992. She spent ten years at Maimonides Medical Cenetr in Brooklyn, serving six of those years as Chief Audiologist and Chief of Communication Disorders at the hospital. She was responsible, along with a team of physicians and nurses, for establishing Brooklyn's first hospital based newborn hearing screening program, and solely responsible for its ongoing implementation.
Dr. Pollak received her Doctorate in Clinical Audiology in October 2001, and has been Board Certified in Audiology for over ten years. She established her private practice in April 2002, and in October 2013 moved to a new, larger facility. She has written a number of articles regarding hearing healthcare, published in local papers. Dr. Pollak taught Pediatric Audiology at the Master's Degree level at CUNY, and has supervised and mentored many graduate and doctoral students of Audiology.
Memberships
Dr. Pollak is a member in good standing of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the American Academy of Audiology, The American Auditory Society, and AG Bell.
She is Baord Certified by the American Board of Audiology.
