Bio
I have been married for 29 years, have one daughter, and three granddaughters. After serving in the Coast Guard, I went back to school and became a biofeedback therapist. Later, I obtained a Masters in Social Work and then a degree in Social Work from Florida State University. My dissertation involved examining the effects of death anxiety on the burnout of hospice social workers. I worked as a medical social worker for several years, including at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, and Shands of Jacksonville. I carried out program evaluation research as a Research Associate at the Institute for Health & Human Services Research. For several years I provided biofeedback and psychotherapy with the Headache & Neurological Treatment Institute, mostly with injured workers and auto accident survivors.
