Education
My Ph.D. is from the New York University School Psychology program and I have an M.A. from Columbia Teachers College where I focused on Home and Family life for a degree in Sociology and Education. I was a teaching fellow while in my doctoral program. My internship was in Clinical Psychology where I worked with children, adolescents and adults in therapy. I have a Primary Practice Certificate in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute in NYC and I use the Maudsley method for treating eating disorders where appropriate.
Bio
I am a licensed psychologist who works with children, adolescents, emerging adults, families and adults. My areas of specialization include Eating Disorders, emotional difficulties around academic and school related problems, emerging adults and developmental tasks. problem-solving skills, Parenting Skills, women's issues and coping skills. More recently I worked as a psychologist in a hospital out-patient Eating Disorders Program and am now in full-time private practice. I have also worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at a local college. My work primarily but not exclusively draws on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) concepts and techniques.
