Dr. Barone earned a Doctorate in clinical child psychology from Carlos Albizu University (Miami, Florida) in 2010. She has been licensed as a psychologist since 2012 and Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2001.. In addition to child psychology, Dr. Barone is experienced in forensic services, providing evaluations for competency and other matters pertaining to the Courts. She is a skilled play therapist and uses her knowledge of child development to increase parents’ ability to successfully manage their children’s behavior issues. A member of the American Psychotherapy and Medical Hypnosis Association, she is a Nationally Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist skilled in helping people overcome compulsive behaviors and manage pain, depression and anxiety. Additionally she provides substance abuse assessment and treatment for all ages.
Dr. Barone earned a Master in Social Work in 1997 from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Prior to moving to Florida, she earned a Masters in Creative Arts Education in 1983 from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. A former New York City public school teacher, she has provided therapy and evaluations at multiple sites in south Florida, including correctional, educational and community mental health agencies.
Dr. Barone is fluent in Spanish and provides culturally sensitive treatment to the varied ethnic and cultural groups which make south Florida their home.
