Feel better now! As a Founding Fellow in the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, I would like to assist you in feeling better fast using this research-based, evidence-based approach. I also am a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy (ABCT), the American Psychological Association (APA) and the California Psychological Association (CPA). Given my interest in helping you in the best possible ways, I continually attend conferences and workshops, in addition to reading journal articles and books on the latest issues in the field.
I specialize in issues including stress, anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive issues, trauma, sadness, mood, depression, relationships, sleep issues, men's issues, and many more. In my 15 years of practice I have often used cognitive-behavioral therapy; however, I also integrate person-centered, humanistic, existential, and relational approaches.
Education/Training
I received my B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. My Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology is from the California School of Professional Psychology in the San Francisco Bay Area, part of Alliant International University. I completed a pre-doctoral internship at The Ohio State University. Both my doctoral training and pre-doctoral internship sites were accredited by the American Psychology Association.
I then specialized in receiving advanced training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, from a number of experts in the area, including Jacqueline Persons, David Burns, and Aaron T. Beck. In regard to my training with Dr. Beck, I completed an externship at The Beck Institute, involving a full year of training, as well as intensive weekly supervision. After that training I became a Diplomate and Founding Fellow fo the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
