Couple & Family Institute Of Tri-Cities
Couple and Family Therapy
Marriage Therapy
Dr. Conrad and her team bring a special sense of warmth and understanding to the couples and families they work with using Emotionally Focused Therapy, the most empirically validated and effective treatment for couples today. We at the Couple and Family Institute of Tri-Cities are all trained in this form of treatment. We help couples reduce their distress and find security with each other by going to the heart of the matter, the attachment system of the couple and changing their view of each other in a more loving, accepting, and forgiving way.
Couples frequently get caught up in negative patterns that take over their relationship and they lose the sense of love and connection they once had. Couples don't realize that it is the negative dynamic between them that has caused them to lose a sense of their love for each other and belies the love that is really underneath their distress. Using this highly effective (73% success results based on research, 90% improvement) treatment modality, we at CFIT can help couples get out of the distress, see the dynamic that has taken them over, and find their way back to a loving and connected relationship.
We are also trained to work with individuals who are in distress with depression or anxiety, or who have experienced traumatic events in their lives and need support and therapeutic help to find their way back to healthy functioning.

Bio
Dr. Carol Ann Conrad is passionate about helping couples and families find their way to security and connection with each other. She sees couples as "the client" and helps them see each other without blame or attack, but in a way that supports their needs for attachment and connection to each other. Dr. Conrad approaches therapy with empathy and positive regard, realizing that feelings and behaviors makes sense and has an exquisite logic if we can but understand. Getting to that understanding is her specialty. Dr. Conrad also has several people who are under supervision with her as part of CFIT and who have training in EFT and carry a similar philosophy. Coming to our Institute, we make sure you get put with the best fit therapist for your needs.
