Among the modalities I utilize for Couples Therapy are the Dialogue of Intimacy and Sensate Focus. Couples find my approach extremely useful in resolving differences and enjoying better communication and greater satisfaction with their relationship.

Biographical Information
Catherine Lockwood, M.A., M.F.T., is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (California license # MFC38789).
Her private practice is located in Brentwood Village on the Westside of Los Angeles, where she provides psychotherapy, couples and sex therapy, trauma treatment, and adolescent and family counseling.
Lockwood graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Science from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Ryokan College in Los Angeles.
She is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Semel Institute training and supervision program in Couples Therapy and Sex Therapy through the American Association of Marriage and Sex Therapists (AACAST).
She has studied Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) and Dynamic Emotion-Focused Therapy (DEFT) with the top world teachers both in the U.S. and abroad.
Lockwood is also a graduate of the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute Level 1 Treatment of Trauma program and was trained by its founder Dr. Pat Ogden.
She holds a Certification in Family Therapy, a multi-year education & training program, from American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (AAMFT).
Lockwood has served on the faculty of the Doctoring/Clinical Skills program at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, instructing and training medical students in clinical skills and psychological/emotional factors that impact patient health.
She also serves as a clinical supervisor overseeing the work of Marriage and Family Therapist (M.F.T.) interns and trainees. She has been a clinical supervisor at Vista del Mar Child & Family Services as well as for the Southern California Counseling Center (SCCC), both in Los Angeles. She served as lead clinician & bilingual mental health clinician at North Valley Youth & Family Center, where she also supervised interns. She currently supervises interns in private practice.
Lockwood is a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (CAMFT) and AACAST.
