Are you feeling stuck, unable to move forward because of the challenges in your life? Let me help you to put the pieces back together in your life and move towards what is most meaningful for our community for over seven years helping people improve their lives at my Lincoln Road training and experience serving diverse populations providing therapy in English and Spanish, I strive to help clients gain a better understanding of the difficulties they face and to provide them with tools they can utilize to help them make lifelong changes.
In addtion to serving as Chief Psychology Resident, I am Board Certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). I have extensive experience helping individuals, couples and groups providing psychotherapy and psychological testing across a variety of settings.
Dr. Scheidt holds a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from CAU. He is an invited member of the APA Division of Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse, Member of the ACBS, Member of the Diversity Committee of the Florida Psychology Association, and the APA Society for the Psychological study of GLBT Issues.
Dr. Scheidt has published various works in the field including his doctoral project "Positive Attitudes Learning and Support Program." This work is an internet based intervention to promote wellness for the GLBT community. Moreover, Dr. Scheidt served from 2012-2013 as a weekly columnist for the FIU Newspaper "The Beacon" where he authored a psychology advice column entitled "Ask Nick". Furthermore, Dr. Scheidt was featured in a cover story for the magazine GradPsych for his expertise in time management. Dr. Scheidt has taught numerous courses at the doctoral level as a teaching assistant including; Theories of Personality, Techniques of Psychotherapy, Physiological Psychology, and Cross Cultural Counseling. In addition to being a psychology resident, Dr. Scheidt is Board Certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). Dr. Scheidt utilizes a holistic approach in patient care including Schema therapy in conjunction with Acceptance and Commitment therapy to treat a variety of different psychological disorders

Bio
Dr. Nicholas R. Scheidt serves as Chief Psychology Resident at Alliance Psychological. Dr. Scheidt has extensive training working with individuals, couples and groups providing psychotherapy and psychological testing. Dr. Scheidt has over seven years of experience across a variety of settings including private practice, teaching, research, disability evaluations, court competency evaluations, neuropsychological evaluations, community mental health, and university counseling and psychological services.
Dr. Scheidt holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University, whose program is accredited by the American Psychological Association. Dr. Scheidt completed his doctoral internship in Clinical Psychology at Florida International University Counseling and Psychological Services Center, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association, The Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers, and The International Association of Counseling Services. Dr. Scheidt is involved locally and nationally with Florida Psychological Association and American Psychological Association. He was appointed to the Diversity Committee of the Florida Psychology Association in September 2012. Dr, Scheidt is a member of the APA Society for the Psychological study of GLBT Issues. Dr. Scheidt served as a member of the Convention Program Selection committee for GLBT topics for the 2013 APA Annual Convention. Dr. Scheidt serves as an invited member of the APA Division of Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse. Dr. Scheidt is a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science. Furthermore, Dr. Scheidt was recently elected as member of the Board of Directors of Pridelines, which is a nonprofit organization that works to support, educate, and provide a safe space for GLBT youth throughout South Florida.
