As a counselor, I have been in practice for more than 30 years and have very diverse and solid experience working in the areas of county mental health, psychiatric crisis and emergency in hospital settings, rural clinics working with bilingual clients and refugees, school district and all levels of education working as a university and school counselor,. I have served as a crisis worker responding to all district student crises regarding students and families oftentimes involving suicidal threats and severe depression and anxiety, couple and relationship counselor building communication skills and resolving long standing resentment and anger issues, internet addictions and affairs, provider of inner child healing and transformational work for adult survivors of dysfunctional families and childhood abuse and addiction, university administrator and counselor for college and graduate level students experiencing adult transitions at various stages of growth and development, bereavement and grief counselor for persons experiencing severe and debilitating losses including death, divorce, separation, moving, aging, job loss or change. I have experience with multiple modalities of therapy including Family Systems and Communication, Gestalt, Psychosynthesis, Art Therapy Play Therapy and Spiritual Counseling. My years of experience in many diverse settings have allowed me to become a very effective counselor able to provide both long term supportive therapy and short term problem solving therapy depending on the individual, couple or family goals and needs. I am flexible, direct and responsive to each client's stated needs and goals in therapy.
