Sometimes you need more than someone who listens.
"Compassionate listening is often not enough. I offer an active approach to help you create new ways of living your life.”

Effective therapy requires a therapist willing to challenge and to offer new ways of thinking, feeling and living. I look for opportunities to challenge - to offer new ways of thinking, feeling and living.   My approach is solidly rooted in the everyday world in which we actually live. It's about helping you to use your strengths and resources  to confront the realities of life.  It’s also about reclaiming your personal agency - that sense of, “I can do this.”  Life stories can be powerful things.  They can move us forward with confidence. But they can also hold us back and get in our way.
What if you could take responsibility for re-writing those stories?

I see people … finding direction in career paths... striking a better work/life balance...thriving in life-stage transitions... creating relationships that work and breaking out of loneliness... moving through loss, depression and anxiety… learning healthier ways to respond to stress. Some come in the midst of a current crisis; others come coping with chronic distress But you don’t have to be struggling to use therapy. Some of my clients also come to develop their potential- to bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be.
Bio
“In my field there’s often a lot of talk about what’s going on in the inside.  We worry about nurturing “self-esteem, promoting “resilience” and managing “shame.”  I confess I even find myself using these words. But over time I’ve learned to be skeptical about this focus on the “inside.”  I believe that feeling follows action - not the other way around.
So my work does not end with ‘How do you feel about that?’  I’m interested in getting you curious about what  you can do about it."

“My own life story has taken me on a path through the real world where I’ve seen the heroic quality that ordinary people bring to the extraordinary challenges of everyday life.”

“I love my work. I’m privileged to bear witness to so very many ways to be human in this world. “
