Gregory D. Carson, LCSW
Specializing in EMDR, SE, IFS, CT, Couples, & Group
I maintain a general private practice with a specialty in the treatment of trauma with offices in the Flatiron District of Manhattan and in Montclair, New Jersey. Whether you have experienced a major traumatic event, suffer from from acute or chronic anxiety and/or depression or whether you are feeling frustrated or stuck in repetitive patterns in your work or personal life, effective psychotherapy can help bring about empowerment, growth, and positive, lasting change.
I am an active participant in each treatment and will work relationally with you to address your concerns. I also specialize in the use of more body-based modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and SE (Somatic Experiencing). I have found, and current research is validating, how essential a healthy mind/body connection is to facilitating any real and lasting shifts from old habituated patterns to new, more adaptive ones, and I have found these modalities particularly effective in this regard.
