Haica Rosenfeld, Psy.D.
Licensed Psychologist in South Florida
Aventura and Weston
I am a licensed psychologist in the United States and in Venezuela, and currently my practice is established in South Florida (Aventura and Weston). I specialize in the treatment of Eating Disorders. I work with clients at all stages of recovery and attempt to be flexible by meeting them wherever they are in terms of their healing process. I believe that more often than not clients will benefit from a multidisciplinary team approach (which may include Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Nutritionist, Medical Doctor and others). This can only work when professionals in different fields effectively communicate about their client’s progress and collaborate with each other to provide the best treatment possible. I have established cooperative and supportive relationships with other professionals in the community treating eating disorder and work with them frequently.
I also particularly enjoy working with late adolescents and young adults. The therapeutic work often focuses on navigate identity issues (struggles with relationships, dating, peer pressure, self-esteem issues and sexual orientation) as well as developmental challenges (thinking about college, increased independence, separating from home and family). This stage of life can be challenging and seeking support from a professional can make a difference.
I provide outpatient services in a private practice setting. I am bilingual and conduct therapy in both English and Spanish. I use an integrative treatment approach in working with individuals and their families. I am a professional member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Florida Psychological Association (FPA), the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED), the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), and the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA).
I provide psychotherapy to late adolescents, adults, and families, addressing a wide range of emotional struggles and conditions/issues including:
•Eating Disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, body image issues, emotional eating, disordered eating)
•Depressive disorders
•Relationship and Communication difficulties
•Identity issues
•Peer pressure and struggles with friends
•Low self-esteem issues
•Separating from home/family while in college
•Substance abuse
•Trauma issues
•Anxiety disorders
•Social skills and Assertiveness training
•Multicultural Issues
