Mindfully Face Your Challenges.
I am passionate about my role as a therapist. I help adolescents, adults, and seniors who are wanting to move through life's hurdles mindfully, and to find themselves doing the things the love and value. I have extensive expertise in helping those that struggle with depression, anxiety, life transitions, caregiver burnout, and grief and loss. Stress management and relationship issues are also areas that I assist people gain a sense of mastery over. I approach therapy from varied theories including Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Dialectic Behavioral Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Theory, and mindfulness practice. Because of this diverse theoretical background and varied available resources, I can meet you wherever you are and find a means to help you.
Education/Training
I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs in 1998. I have had extensive training in issues related to seniors and their caregivers. I have participated in several seminars on Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. I have been a practicing DBT therapist for the past 7 years and have provided training at a local university on the application of DBT in an adult intensive outpatient setting.
