Providing individual, couples and family counseling for all ages and abilities, I can help you to engage your personal strengths and utilize a truly holistic approach to bring the body, mind and spirit into balance. While I am a general practitioner, with a diverse practice, I specialize in sexual and reproductive health. I also know how busy life can be, which is why I will work with you to find a mutually agreeable time to either meet in person, whether in my office or for a walk, via skype or over the phone.
Ultimately, our work together will instill a sense of empowerment that is needed to make healthy life decisions and embrace sexuality as something that is valued, respected and celebrated.

Bio
Heather Simonson, LMSW, a Licensed Social Worker and Certified Sexuality Educator, is the founder of Sexuality Education and Counseling Services (SECS). SECS is an organization that empowers others to help build the foundation needed to embrace sexuality with pride and as something that is valued, respected and celebrated. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, honest and sex-positive health education and support services that address the unique needs of the whole person, family and community.
Heather earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University and her certification from the American Association of Sexuality, Educators, Counselors and Therapists. Heather is a nationally known trainer and consultant in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, youth development, relationships and curriculum design. Heather provides age-appropriate workshops, professional trainings, and individual, couples and family counseling utilizing an integrative approach that builds on individuality and personal strengths.
Heather has also received her certification as a Yoga Ed.™ instructor and a Registered Yoga Teacher using a holistic perspective by joining eastern and western derived techniques. Through incorporating yoga into her teachings Heather, encourages self-respect, fosters resiliency and enhances the health and success of our youth, our families and our communities.
After years of research on this integrative approach, Heather’s is published in a new book on Sexuality Education and is the co-author of “EMPOWER NOW! An innovative holistic Workshop for Empowerment in Life Skills and Sexuality for Youth.”
