Helping you create ease of movement and lessen discomfort.
Practitioner at Kneaded Energy Therapeutic Massage
I use a combination of techniques to alleviate tension and pain, customizing each session to met the needs of each individual client. My goal is always to understand the clients needs and goals, and work with them to create a plan, which with lessen discomfort and create more ease within the body.

The majority of my sessions combine flowing, relaxation massage and gentle, deep tissue work. Most of my clients characterize my work as "gentle, but strong, and effective at reducing pain and discomfort."

However I am able to choose from my "tool-belt" of experience in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage Technique, Neural Reset Therapy, and Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy.

Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy is a modality in which I have two bars placed on the ceiling over my massage table, which look like upside-down parallel bars. I hold these bars for balance, stand on the massage table, and use my feet to deliver deep, broad, and thoroughly relaxing pressure to the back, glutes, and back of the legs. It's known as "the world's deepest, most luxurious massage" - so if you like heavy, relaxing pressure, then this is a modality you must try!

I use Swedish massage to relax and flush out the body's tired muscles, and deep tissue to work specific areas that need extra or very focused and concentrated work. Hot Stone therapy can be used solely for relaxation purposes, or can be used intermittently to soften muscles and prepare them for deeper, more focused work.

Craniosacral Therapy is generally done clothed and involves a series of gentle, and intuitive holds at the sacrum (hips) and the head, neck, and face. This modality is implemented for a variety of issues in concerns, including, but not limited to: TMJ Disorder, tension headaches, migraines, as well as back and neck pain.

I also hold a certification in Lymphatic Drainage Technique. I have used this modality, with great results, at the request of clients with lyphodema, clients undergoing cancer treatments, and even clients in the final weeks of pregnancy - to reduce discomfort and swelling in the limbs.

Neural Reset Therapy is a revolutionary technique developed by Lawrence Woods. It requires the client to be more active within the session by lightly activating or flexing specific muscles while the practitioner applies movement, motion, resistance, and other techniques to create change in the muscle. While it is not relaxing like a Swedish massage, it is very effective and clients generally report a reduction in chronic pain or tension.
I am working toward certification in this modality.

In addition, I have also been a certified Birth Doula, assisting pregnant women and their partners from 2006 - 2010. I offer informational, emotional, mental, and physical support prior to labor and throughout the labor and birth process.
While I now only provide these services for friends and family, I also specialize in prenatal massage - working out those kinks in the back, easing those aches in the hips, and nurturing the mother - pregnancy massage can be more relaxing that you'd ever imagine!

I hope to continue to expand my knowledge in the massage therapy and am currently seeking additional training in cupping, Eastern modalities, well as more specific training in Fascial lines and Neuromuscular Massage.
Bio
I have worked in the massage therapy field since 2006, first helping to manage the day to day operations of Kneaded Energy - a well-known, local massage therapy practice in Greensboro. Subsequently going to school in 2007 to study massage therapy.
I have been licensed and a practicing massage therapy, full-time at Kneaded Energy since late 2008 and I have loved every moment of it.
I have over 5,000 hours of hands-on massage therapy experience thus far, and look forward to continuing to work with my clients to help them achieve their health and massage goals.

In addition, I am currently an Instructor to students at Kneaded Energy School of Massage. I teach hands-on classes in subjects ranging from basic Swedish massage, chair massage, comfort care, energy work, deep tissue and condition specific work.
I also supervise students during their student clinic, where they can practice the skills that they are learning in class, in sessions with members of the public. It is so fulfilling to guide and advise the students and watch them grow as new therapists.

I love dance, aerial dance, barre, and pilates. Currently I'm learning to perform as an aerial dancer.
I hope to also teach fitness classes in Barre, Fly Gym, and Aerial Dance in the future .

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film-making and cinematography, and worked for 2 years in television news.
I am an artist at heart, and dabble in many different mediums in my spare time - from film, to painting, sculpting, to sewing and knitting, and even home improvement projects - I love to use my hands to create results!
