I completed my training in 2004 during a ten-month teacher-training program at The Columbia Yoga Center. I am a registered yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level (RYT ® 200). I teach Hatha yoga which is the yoga of physical postures and breathing techniques. My classes are inspiring and work toward emphasizing correct alignment and form. I blend my knowledge of Chinese medicine and acupuncture into my yoga classes masterfully weaving in ancient healing philosophies with the art and science of yoga. My training with teachers from the Iyengar and Anusara traditions creates a balance of heart-centered expressions and anatomical precision. I have studied with Bob Glicksien (founder of The Columbia Yoga Center), Joseph Roberson, Kathy Donnell (Director of The Columbia Yoga Center), Judith Lasater, Barbara Allen, and my current teacher Eric Reid.

Prior to receiving my Master’s of Acupuncture degree I earned my Bachelor’s of Art degree in Psychology from the University Of Maryland Baltimore County. Immediately after graduation, I started the 3 year Master’s of Acupuncture program at the Tai Sophia Institute which is the oldest and first accredited acupuncture program in the United States .
I am a licensed acupuncturist through the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Maryland State Board of Acupuncture. I received National Board Certification through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), making me a Diplomat of Acupuncture.
I completed a two and a half year program in Chinese Herbal Medicine also at the Tai Sophia Institute. I hold a 660 hour certification for Chinese Herbal Medicine.
I am also an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist certified through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA).
I completed a ten-month yoga teacher-training program at the Columbia Yoga Center in which I became a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200-hour level (RYT®200).
Last but not, least I am a Level II Reiki practitioner.

5 ½ years of practice.
