For more than 30 years I've been helping people move past anxiety, fear and worry. If you're losing sleep and waking up worried I can help-often in the first session. I also have much experience helping folks to repair and strengthen relationships of all shapes and sizes....I can assist traditional marriages and I also have experience and comfort with alternative kinds!
As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist I have special training to help people who struggle with all kinds of sexually compulsive behaviors. AND I can assist their partners, spouses, and family members as well! CSE stands for certified sexual educator, and CCS for certified clinical sexologist, which means I can help with any kind of sexual problem, hang up, or difficulty. Many people come to me with desire issues, ie they want more or less sex than their partner. Others struggle with "addiction" to internet porn or risky sex like affairs.
Most importantly, I do lots of work by PHONE, which means you don't need to come into my Los Osos office. This offers a private and convenient alternative for those who aren't able to attend "in person."
Education/Training
My masters degree is in 1981 in Psychology. I've studied with Dr. Patrick Carnes, the internationally known expert on sexual compulsivity. I was one of the first 50 licensed clinicians to be certified as a Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT). I also have 4 years of post graduate training at the institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco.
