My specialty is Japanese Style Acupuncture , this is a gentle style of Acupuncture that focuses on the root cause of an individuals problem. Diagnosis is done by visual observation, asking questions and by palpating the body. In particular I examine the the radial pulse and the abdomen. These are the areas of the body that give the most information about the core or root cause of a persons problem. Once a pattern of disharmony is found I treat the core/root cause to build a foundation so that the presenting symptoms can truly be resolved. These presenting symptoms are what brings a person in for treatment to begin with. By treating the root first it is much easier to have a lasting effect in treating and resolving the symptoms. This is the heart of Japanese style Acupuncture.
I also use the balance method of Acupuncture. This is a Chinese style of Acupuncture that many times can yield immediate results. This works especially well with issues of pain and physical discomfort.

Bio
I came into the Acupuncture field via my study of Martial Arts in the 1970's. I studied with a Chinese master who was also an Acupuncturist. Through my studies with this master I saw that the concept of Qi or vital energy was not something you needed to believe in or concentrate on but was something as real as each breath you take. I soon became interested in Acupuncture because I saw this as a way of not just philosophizing about Asian culture but a way I could make a difference in the health and life of other people. Within a couple of years I heard about an Acupuncture school that had opened in the Boston area, I moved here, went to school and never looked back.
