Affordable Therapy--Many Successes!
I am a hands-on, down-to-earth, friendly and warm therapist who clients feel comfortable with immediately. I have a quaint large office in a convenient area of Costa Mesa. There is ample parking. I work primarily with couples, families, divorce, and blended families. My clients also receive a wealth of related resources that I have accumulated over the years and have access to me via text or email 24/7. My specialties are coping skills, emotional regulation, anger management, communication, anxiety/stress, and depression.
Education/Training
I have 2 Masters Degrees: The 1st was in Counseling and Guidance from New York University, which I received in 1975; and the 2nd was from Chapman University in Psychology, which I received in 1999 and graduated with honors. I completed my 3000 hours as an MFT Intern from 1999 to 2005, at which time I became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I am also a Clinical Supervisor and have supervised many MFT interns and trainees since becoming certified in 2007.
Bio
I have been working as a psychotherapist since 1999 and thoroughly enjoy my work. I have a sincere desire to help people overcome their hardships and achieve satisfying and harmonious relationships as well as personal growth. I am able to share my wealth of life experiences as well as my extensive educational and clinical training and abundant community resources. My experience includes: Clinical Supervisorand bi-lingual therapist at a MediCal-contractred children's clinic; therapist, teen and parenting group facilitator at a homeless shelter, working with mentally ill patients at a partial hospitalization program; teaching parenting and anger management workshops, individual and family therapy for juvenile offenders, and Clinical Director at a domestic violence shelter. I have been told I have an inborn gift to reach out and connect with people, which has been invaluable in achieving successful outcomes.
