Liz Birch, , LMFT, CHt
Orange County, CA Therapist
Hypnotherapist
For the past 25 or so years my focus has been on helping others. Prior to working as a therapist I worked for the Walt Disney Company. I was surrounded by happy people (the guests) having fun. I also learned that quality of work was of the utmost importance. If you worked for the Walt Disney Company there were no short cuts. I learned a lot about business from the best - Disney.
My career then took a shift and instead of making the masses happy I wanted to focus on individuals. I gained my Masters degree in Marriage and Family therapy. I worked in various settings, non-profits, schools, county mental health agencies before I settled into private practice. I love what I do! I have so much appreciation for the people that I have come to know. I enjoy watching people make positive changes in their lives. It's not always easy, in fact, it can be darn hard work. But the outcome is amazing.
I also have been trained and am a Master Hypnotist. Hypnotherapy is a great add on to traditional therapy. Hypnosis provides a heighten state of learning which makes you more susceptible to suggestions resulting in great improvement. Many of my clients request the hypnotherapy and are finding great results!
My business is doing great! I love what I do. I look forward to working with everyone who walks through my door.

Bio
Liz Birch is licensed by the State of California in Marriage and Family Therapy. She provides psychotherapy to individuals and couples working mainly with the over 18 population.
Her main areas of focus are in treating anxiety disorders, depression, and PTSD resulting from various traumas. She works with couples who are striving to improve their relationship.
A specialized area of hers is to work with Veterans and First Responders. These are our super heroes who are expected to keep on giving without asking for help themselves. Liz provides a calm, safe place where they can focus on themselves and experience relief.
Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help her clients effectively address personal life challenges. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is considered among the most rapid in terms of results obtained. What enables CBT to be briefer is it's highly instructive nature. CBT is time-limited in that we help clients understand at the very beginning of the therapy process that there will be a point when the formal therapy will end. The ending of the formal therapy is a decision made by the therapist and client. Therefore, CBT is not an open-ended, never-ending process.
Liz has received training through USC and UCLA's military programs. She's attended trainings a various military installations as well as through Walter Reed Medical Center. Additional training has occurred in Boston through Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General psychology programs. Most of the focus of these trainings were to treat PTSD, anxiety disorders and depression.
In addition to her work via CBT, Liz is a Master Hypnotist. Having received training in Orange County California, she utilizes Hypnotherapy as an "add on" to traditional therapy. Hypnosis brings about a very relaxed state which opens the doors to amazing changes.
Liz Birch's busy practice encourages her clients to express their concerns and to implement what they have learned. She does that with compassion and understanding, She works with each individual to help them build on their own strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
