As stronger, more high tech solutions to specific diseases are utilized, we have developed more complex and chronic diseases that do not respond to these specific remedies. The orientation of the practitioner of eastern medicine is to examine and treat the whole person. That is one of the things that most attracted me to this medicine. I believe that the human body is amazingly adaptive; that with some help, it will heal itself. That is why I practice this medicine.

Maureen Fox, R.N., L.Ac. received her undergraduate degree in nursing, and worked as an R.N. prior to receiving her Masters level training as an acupuncturist at The Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin, and Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Racine, Wisconsin. She has been awarded the title Diplomate of Acupuncture by the National Committee of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine), and is currently licensed by the state of Missouri. In addition, she is a member of the A.A.A.O.M. (American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) and the A.A.M. (Acupuncture Association of Missouri.)
