McArthur Counseling center aims to provide personalized treatment for every client. We pride ourselves in being a "full service" agency offering all types of counseling, testing and medication options. Our counselors have a variety of specialties including: anger management, depression, marital problems, anxiety and developmental disorders, just to name a few. Our on staff Psychologist is licensed to administer over 29 different psychological and educational testing instruments. Our on staff Psychiatrist and Nurse Practitioner offer psychiatric evaluations and medication management services.

Bio
Joel is the founder of the company. He encourages a style that is warm and relational, to help the client feel comforted and empowered as they deal with their issues. His areas of specialty are: children, teen groups, adults, cases including behavioral issues, anger management, crisis, trauma and addiction.
Joel taught Principles of Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology and Early Childhood Development at Southwestern Michiana College in 1999.
He worked for several years at Michiana Behavioral Health Center in Plymouth, Indiana, providing therapy for children, adolescents and adults in individual, family and group settings.
He also worked for Counseling Associates in Warsaw, Indiana prior to becoming the owner of his own counseling firm. Joel is married and has two young daughters.
Joel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor, Certified in the Duluth Model of Minnesota to treat Domestic Violence and Certified in the Ontario Domestic Assault Risk Assessment.
