MusicConnects offers Music Therapy services by a Masters trained and board certified music therapist for children adolescents,families and adults who are struggling with trauma,grief and loss. Children and adolescents who struggle with emotional and social challenges as a result of academic or peer pressures or have been affected by learning disabilities, ADHD or Aspergers often respond to non-verbal, creative therapeutic mediums such as Music Therapy. The process of making music, playing a variety of instruments, writing and recording songs and acquiring musical skills can build self-esteem, positive self-image and improve social skills. Music therapy is an evidenced and research based treatment modality used in hospitals,schools,agencies and private practices.

Bio
Juliane obtained her Masters in Music Therapy from New York University, NYC. She is a certified Analytical Music Therapist with fourteen years of experience working with children,adolescents, their families and adults in a variety of settings such as hospitals, preschool, afterschool program, Community Mental Health Centers, Agencies and private practices in New York City, Brooklyn,NY; Wilson and Jackson,WY Berkeley and San Francisco, CA. She also has a BA in Music ( Jazz ) and Voice teaching and combines voice teaching with music therapy in her work with traumatized individuals. She is a certified drum circle facilitator ( by HealthRhythms) and runs drum circles and social skills group using drumming from her private practice in Berkeley. Juliane works for UCSF, Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute with adults struggling with mental illness and supervises Expressive/Creative Artstherapy interns for the Albany School district. She also is a recording artist who produced her own two CD's.
