Make the Quality of Your Life a Priority
Patrizia Meunier Counseling
We will work together to resolve your emotional pain and help you experience your life differently. Therapy is not about self-indulgence: making your life more worth living will benefit your loved ones, your work and the society as a whole. Here you will find a safe place to heal and to renew yourself.
I work with clients to resolve their past or present trauma. I help clients work through/manage depression and anxiety which have hampered their ability to live their lives with ease in the past. I successfully aid my clients' work in improving their social relationships and low self-confidence.
Some more specific examples of the issues I treat are emotional consequences of miscarriage or abortion, issues related to infertility problems and issues related to parenting phases and roles. I also focus on issues arising from the process of immigration and acculturation in the United States and issues related to clients’ diversity with respect to the majority of the population.
I see individual clients, couples and I run small groups. I run groups together with a licensed acupuncturist for people who had a traumatic experience in their past.
I am multicultural and I am fluent in three languages; I offer therapy in English, Spanish and Italian.
I offer affordable therapy with a sliding scale fee.
Education/Training
I trained at the JFKU Counseling Center in Pleasant Hill, I worked for three years at the Women’s Therapy Center in El Cerrito and I worked at the Family Justice Center where I did therapy with families in domestic violence situations. I saw adolescents individually and in groups in school settings. I now work in Private Practice.
Bio
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Psychotherapist (#MFC48654) who dedicates herself to this profession with deep conviction in the effectiveness of therapy to change and improve people’s lives.
I have a master's degree in counseling psychology and a PhD in Physics. After working as a scientist and a researcher for many years I realized that counseling was my real way to give back to the community. I then decided to work only as a psychotherapist and to commit to the job I like the most.
I am multicultural and I am fluent in three languages; I offer therapy in English, Spanish and Italian.
