I'm aware of how hard it is to talk about personal problems. You feel vulnerable, confused, embarrassed, angry, afraid, and childlike. You feel stuck at a certain level of understanding or problem solving and can't bounce back. You wish you could talk to someone who won't judge you, but would listen deeply and help you recapture hope and meaning in your life and relationships.
I believe I can help. I provide a safe place where you and your partner can understand how your feelings and thoughts affect the ways you act, react, think, feel, and relate. I am interested in hearing your story with all the twist and turns of your personal history. When you share your story I will listen and give you back new meanings so you can learn more about yourself and your partner in a new way. Together we will figure out how to resolve your painful conflicts, discover what triggers your emotional reactivity, explore your life's journey more deeply, and if possible, develop new ways to heal your past and revision your future |

| Bio |
I became a therapist 30 years ago and over the years have helped individuals and couples from different cultural, ethnic, gender, and religious backgrounds. I started out as a pastoral counselor and worked 15 years as a individual and couple psychotherapist at the Samaritan Pastoral Counseling Center of Evanston/Wilmette. I also was on the counseling staff at the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago for 4 years. In 2004 I started a private practice in Evanston Il. specializing in psychotherapy for couples and individuals.
My primary orientation is in depth counseling and psychotherapy with persons who struggle with persistent difficulties in their work, marriage, and family relationships. I work especially with people experiencing difficult life transitions, marital conflict/avoidance, depression, anxiety, trauma, affairs, addictions, loss/grief, and others issues that constrain emotional connection and personal growth. My therapeutic style is collaborative, supportive, and empathic. |
