Is someone you love undergoing a lot of stress? Are you yourself struggling with emotional pain, and mixed-up thoughts or actions you don't like? I can help!

I enjoy working with children, families and adults, and helping people who are unhappy with the feelings, thoughts, and relationships causing them distress. My special training is a key to helping you.

I have the tools to help you heal from stress and trauma, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, and depression. I can help both children and adults feel better faster because I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to alleviate your pain and magnify your strengths.

I am an expert in stress management and in helping people establish and strengthen healthy boundaries. I also have training in many other approaches to improving mental health--for example, Psychodrama, Play Therapy, Sand Play, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy--so that you have a choice.

Here's how it works. I pay special attention to you in order to really understand what your own special needs and goals are. Then you and I work together to set priorities and treatment goals--what's important to you. That way, you and I will be able to measure and celebrate your progress together. While we are healing what hurts, we will also go on a treasure hunt to discover and and make the most of your talents.

Advanced education, training, and experience as a Registered Play Therapist, and as a Registered Nurse equip me to help different kinds of people a lot of different ways. For example, I understand the important connections between mind, body, emotions and spirit. Often, my ideas for taking wiser care of your body will have amazing healing effects on your mind and emotions. As a Christian psychotherapist (without forcing ideas on those uninterested in Christianity) my goal is to free up people to enjoy the *abundant life* that Jesus promises.

Bio
I am married (happily!), and my husband and I have two adult sons. We have lived in Colorado for years. When I'm not at work, I enjoy singing, being in the outdoors, exercise classes, Bible studies, reading, gardening, and hanging out with friends.

My most satisfying accomplishment has been to help establish a summer camp through my church for abused and neglected children, called Royal Family Kids' Camp.
I served for 4 years on the board of the WINGS Foundation, which provides support groups, education, and referrals for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse here in Colorado, and helped to write their first handbook.
With Harold Westing, I wrote the book: Building Biblical Values, published by Kregel of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
