My practice focuses on children, adolescents and their parents with an emphasis on wellness and cultural sensitivity. I am a licensed psychologist and also licensed as a school counselor with many years of experience working in the schools. I am also a professor Emeritus at Cal State University, Los Angeles where I taught for 30 years (now retired).
Areas of specialization include children with disabilities, Autism, ADHD, parental support, marital issues, anxiety, depression and marital or family issues.
Education/Training
Dr. Soriano earned a BA and MA in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside. He also earned credentials in School Counseling at UCR and School Administration at California State University, Fullerton. His doctorate in Clinical Psychology was completed at United States International University (now Alliant International University) in San Diego, California.
Bio
Dr. Soriano is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years experience in counseling and psychological practice in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Bernardino County. He is bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural. Dr. Soriano is a culturally competent therapist with experience and sensitivity to the needs of changing families. He was instrumental in developing the Intercultural Proficiency Program at California State University, Los Angeles and has trained many mental health professionals in Cultural Competency.
Memberships
Dr. Soriano is an active member of the American Counseling Association, American School Counseling Association, the Western Psychological Association and the California Psychological Association.
