Things CAN be different.
Therapy & Relationship Help for Individuals/Couples/Families
If you’ve reached this page, it’s probably because something in your life is not going quite the way you want. For many of us, it comes down to the people in our lives. Every person on this planet survives and thrives on relationships; nobody can go through life entirely alone. Most of us play roles in a variety of relationships – we are husbands and wives, parents and children, brothers and sisters; we are boyfriends and girlfriends, bosses and employees, friends and coworkers. Hopefully, the relationships that make up the framework of our lives enrich and enhance our lives, bringing us more joy than hardship, more pleasure than pain.

But sometimes it isn’t that way. Sometimes our significant others make us sad, angry, or jealous. Sometimes our friends hurt our feelings. Sometimes our children or our parents drive us crazy. Few things cause us as much protracted pain and stress as an ongoing relationship that isn’t going well.

I can help you make a change.

Seeking out therapy to address your problems can be difficult for anyone, and so I commend you for taking this first challenging step. I know it’s not easy; I hope I will be able to make the process a little bit easier. I would like to help you address your concerns in a nonjudgmental and compassionate way. At the same time, I hope to be able to give you the strength to take responsibility for the things you can change and to point your life in the direction you really want it to go.

I want to help you make the most of the relationships in your life. Together let’s transform them from a source of stress and pain into a source of strength and fulfillment.

Bio
I have a diverse professional background, which includes clinical experience in psychiatric outpatient settings, family therapy institutes, domestic violence units, community service agencies, and private counseling practices. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families, with children, teenagers, adults, and the elderly. Although Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is my primary therapeutic orientation, I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and more.

In addition to being a therapist, I am a human being as well! I was born in Montreal, Canada, and moved to the US as a teenager, where I spent my high school and college years. I went to college at Brown University in Providence, RI, where I studied computer science and graduated with honors. After college I spent a year teaching underprivileged children in a Brooklyn charter school, where I learned that working with people was a lot more satisfying to me than working with machines. It was only some years later that I decided to get a master's degree in social work so that I could devote my career to helping others.

I speak English, Hebrew, French and Spanish (though only the first two fluently enough that I can do therapy in them). I like playing Scrabble and Bananagrams and telling good (and bad) jokes. I live in Pikesville, MD, with three beautiful daughters and a very special wife.
