I am Dr. Lisa Palmer, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 23 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, teens, and families through meaningful emotional healing and lasting change. My work is grounded in a deep respect for each person’s story and a strong understanding of how trauma, stress, and relationship challenges affect both emotional and physical well-being.
I specialize in working with PTSD, trauma, addiction and substance use concerns, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. I hold a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy and am also a Certified Hypnotherapist. My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, focused on helping clients feel safe, understood, and supported while building practical tools for healthier living and relationships.
In my clinical work, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients recognize unhelpful patterns, regulate emotions, and develop effective coping skills. I also incorporate mindfulness-based behavioral therapy to support greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and nervous system regulation. When appropriate, I use clinical hypnosis and Rapid Reduction and Resolution, a trauma-focused approach designed to reduce the emotional and physical impact of past experiences without requiring repeated retelling of painful events. My overall style is eclectic, meaning I thoughtfully combine methods and tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, goals, and comfort level.
I am the founder and clinical director of The Renew Center of Florida, a boutique therapy and wellness center located in Boca Raton. Our practice is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized outpatient mental health care in a calm and respectful environment. We work with individuals, couples, teens, and families seeking healing, clarity, and stronger connections. Services are offered in person in Boca Raton and virtually throughout Florida. |
