Supportive and Insight Oriented Psychotherapy
Marianne Hughes
I have a creative based and psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy practice. I pull from all theories of human development and apply them as they apply specifically to the issues at hand. Strengths and problems are both addressed as the individual finds important. My expertise is on emotional regulation, identity development, and relationship dynamics. We may focus on the hear and now, address past issues, and often connect the two to address and resolve current distress. I listen and find listening to be a major part of the therapeutic work. Goals and perspectives addressed in treatment are arrived at collaboratively. Education and support can be offered as dynamics unfold and the therapy deepens and transforms.
