You may be seeking therapy because life feels overwhelming, painful experiences continue to affect you, or a relationship that matters deeply to you has become strained. You may know something needs to change but feel unsure where to begin. I welcome the opportunity to help you understand what you are experiencing and find a way forward.
I am a patient, compassionate, and actively engaged therapist. I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and offer clear feedback and practical guidance. Together, we make room for your story while working toward changes that matter in your everyday life. I respect your pace and encourage you as you develop new insights, practice new skills, and work through difficult emotions.
With over 28 years of clinical experience, I have seen how meaningful it can be for people to understand themselves more fully and feel more connected to others. Helping clients find their voice, work through grief, heal from painful experiences, and strengthen their relationships continues to make this work deeply rewarding.
My background as a Mien refugee from Laos has shaped my appreciation for the ways culture, family, faith, and life experiences influence us. I understand that navigating different cultural expectations can bring both strengths and challenges. I approach each person with curiosity and respect for their unique story.
My Christian faith is an important part of who I am. For those who wish to include faith in counseling, I thoughtfully welcome it into our work. I also warmly welcome clients of all backgrounds and beliefs. Your values, preferences, and goals guide the process.
Whether you come on your own, with your partner, or as a family, my hope is that you feel heard, supported, and better equipped to move toward the life and relationships you want.

Bio
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of Lasting Affection Counseling Services, established in 2005. With over 28 years of clinical experience, I help individuals, couples, and families work through emotional pain, strengthen relationships, and navigate life’s challenges. Seeing clients gain understanding, reconnect with those they love, and find renewed hope continues to make this work deeply meaningful to me.
My style is patient, compassionate, and directive. I offer a supportive space to explore difficult experiences, along with thoughtful feedback and practical tools to help you move forward. I tailor our work to your needs, goals, and comfort.
I work with adults and adolescents ages 12 and older, offering support for trauma, including sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and life transitions. I also provide couples, premarital, and family counseling to help clients strengthen communication, work through conflict, and build greater trust and connection. LENS neurofeedback is available as an additional service.
I offer therapy in English and Mien, with in-person sessions in Albany, California, and telehealth throughout California. For clients who desire it, I thoughtfully integrate Christian faith into counseling. Clients of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome.
