What Is ADHD?

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity.

Symptoms of ADHD include:
- Failure to pay attention to detail
- Making careless mistakes at school or work
- Difficulty paying attention
- Difficulty following instructions
- Trouble organizing
- Dislike participation in tasks that require sustained mental effort
- Losing things often
- Forgetful in day-to-day tasks

Not everyone with ADHD has all the symptoms. Six or more symptoms within 6 months are necessary to diagnose ADHD. If you think you have ADHD, see a therapist for an accurate diagnosis.
