How can massage therapy help carpal tunnel syndrome?

5/1/2012
First of all having a proper diagnosis is imperative with any treatment plan. Knowing what it is you are treating is an effective means to provide care. Make sense. For instance, carpal tunnel syndrome can mimic symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome. The treatment protocol is different. Carpal tunnel symptoms can include reduced hand grip, numbness and tingling and pain with use. It also can refer pain, meaning the pain can felt away from the area of injury. I've run into multiple diagnosis, such as an individual having been diagnosis with carpal tunnel syndrome and tentitis. The massage treatment protocol for carpal tunnel is mobilizing the wrist and forearm with movement involving lengthening the tendons with massage therapy to increase mobility and to allow reduced nerve irritation to the area.
