I am a creative therapist. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting, and a Master's degree in Social Work, I often find myself bringing that creativity into my practice. I believe that each client's needs are unique, and I tailor my skills to your needs. I have had a broad range of clinical experience, specializing in cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing, and EMDR therapy. I believe that my past experience with residential, day and outpatient treatment, managed classrooms and educational settings has given me a large arsenal of skills and abilities. Also, experience with multiple and varied populations has heightened my ability to see the underlying issues and assist my client's in recognizing and altering their current behavior to reach their goals.
I was trained in EMDR at the beginning of 2009, and am now a certified with EMDRIA. I have had significant success with issues such as communication skills, anxiety and stress reduction, depression management and reduction, release of past traumatic memories (ie. abuse, serious accidents, witnessing horrific events, etc), relationship issues, parenting skills, behavior management, and grief and loss.
