As a licensed clinical social worker and certified sex therapist with over 40 years of experience, I bring a broad perspective and a practical approach to my work. I deal with issues of relationships, parenting, depression and anxiety, as well as concerns around sexuality, including disparate desire, dysfunction, lack of desire, unusual sexual preferences, sexuality and disability and aging, sexually transmitted diseases, and polyamorous relationships. I have a solo practice with an office in the Mission-Noe Valley district of San Francisco. I offer brief phone consultations, have no office staff and look after all facets of the practice myself. Providing a safe and private enviornment is a priority. Although trained in the psychodynamic model of therapy, I have evolved a briefer, present-focused treatment approach using cognitve and behavioral strategies.Treatment focuses on developing insight about unproductive behaviors, building communication and relationship skills and solidifying gains made in therapy.
