I am a NYS Licensed Master Social Worker working under the supervision of Aaron Skinner-Spain at NYC Affirmative Psychotherapy . As a Queer Woman of Color my goal is to assist in the creation of a world where LGBTQIA persons are affirmed and nurtured in in all aspects of their life. As I'm sure you've witnessed, our LGBTQIA populations as well as our People of Color are still vulnerable in the current socio-political climate, and so I focus my efforts on these two groups. With that said, I have experience in various other high need areas, i.e. Human Trafficking, Domestic Violence, Sexual Trauma, Undoing Institutional Racism, Latinos in the Race Conversation, and Immigration/Unaccompanied Children.
I work with individuals who want to empower themselves in their daily lives to live authentically who they are, while creating an affirming and nurturing environment for themselves and others through understanding, acceptance, practice, and transformation.
I work with individuals and groups dealing with LGBTQIA issues to gain Understanding and Acceptance to move forward and transform their lives in a healthy and nurturing way. I work with adolescent, young adults, adults and parents to help them overcome life's obstacles faced by people within the LGBTQIA spectrum, in individual and group settings.
