Research has shown that the relationship between therapist and client, or the therapeutic alliance, is vital for a positive outcome. I make sure that you feel heard and supported throughout our sessions together. I have an eclectic style that integrates a number of approaches, depending on the needs of the client. I draw upon humanistic therapy – specifically client-centred and existential therapy – as well as a strengths-based approach that incorporates mindfulness techniques and cognitive reframing. These can help give you a new perspective on what’s going on, and strategies to help you better cope with life challenges. And I use a sense of humour along the way… As a Registered Psychotherapist as well as a Registered Drama Therapist, I like to incorporate creative interventions with psychotherapeutic tools to deal with life challenges.
