Contact Competent Communicators
My name is Kaitlin Mulcahey M.S., CCC-SLP and I am a pediatric speech and language pathologist and the owner of Competent Communicators LLC. I am certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association and licensed to provide speech and language therapy in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I graduated from Loyola University Maryland with my Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology after graduating with my undergraduate degree from The University of South Florida. I strongly believe that each child is unique and has individual strengths and needs. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all recommendations regarding intervention and therapy for children. Though I work with children with a variety of speech and language disorders, I am particularly passionate about working with autistic children. I have completed a variety of continuing education in order to provide best-practice when working with neurodivergent children. My therapy approach is child-centered, play-based, neurodiveristy affirming therapy that focuses on the whole child. I am also passionate about incorporating families into therapy for best outcomes. I am trained in providing therapy using the NLA (Natural Language Acquisition) framework for gestalt language processors. I am also trained in ASD from the Inside Out which is a developmental approach for working with autistic children. Additionally, I have years of experience completing AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) evaluations for pediatric clients who would benefit from use of an AAC device. I look forward to meeting you and your child!
