I have been a licensed marriage, family, and child therapist since 1980 and earned a PhD in counseling from University of Southern California in 1986. I help clients identify and reach goals, and avoid roadblocks. I offer feedback with a non-judgmental, and solutions-oriented approach. I work with individuals, couples, and groups, and accept most insurance. My specialties include: sexual assault (survivors and their significant others), adult children of alcoholics, depression, anxiety, job stress, communication strategies, women's issues, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender), and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). My clients come from very diverse backgrounds and cultures. I offer a caring, sympathetic and understanding response to life's challenges. I suggest appropriate behavioral homework, such as relevant reading materials, taking necessary actions, writing journals and therapeutic letters, and trying holistic steps (homeopathic and herbal remedies, exercise, mindfulness and relaxation approaches).
