Contact Kimberlee Daughtry, MA, LPC, EMDR Certified
Welcome to your safe, personal retreat where a cozy, comfortable sofa, soothing music, fresh aroma and coffee/soda with a light snack awaits your arrival! Also awaiting you is me, a counselor who is warm, creative, humble, engaging and passionate about helping people,. As a fellow sojourner, I have experienced and thrived beyond my own trauma/losses and have a desire to give back. Life can can be difficult. Past events, traumatic experiences, negative attitude/beliefs, addictions or destructive behaviors can be detrimental in all aspects of life, driving a person's behavior and thinking in ineffective ways. Counseling can provide a "sacred space" to begin sorting out issues of the heart so that freedom can begin take hold and hope and contentment are restored. I integrate Christian principles and explore solutions that fit for you . Carl Rogers stated, "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." Using both verbal and non verbal evidence based therapies, as I do, utilizes two different parts of the brain, making therapy more integrated and effective. Examples of these therapies that I use would include: cognitive behavioral, Gestalt, EMDR, family systems, sand tray, play therapy, person centered, and psychodynamic. I enjoy working with children, teen, adults, couples and families. I have experience working closely with 12 step programs, like Alanon, for family members, and children/teens affected by addictions and those recovering from addictions. I commend you for your bravery and look forward to the privilege of working with you!
