I am a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in New York City. My office is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, near Columbia University. I work with adults from college age and up who want help addressing problems ranging from depression, anxiety, and relationship issues to addiction, co-dependency, and the effects of early trauma. I believe psychotherapy should provide a sense of comfort and support as the starting point for addressing emotional problems. I have more than 30 years' experience as a psychotherapist, and have been affiliated with The Hazelden Foundation since 1997.

I am in practice over 20 years in a spacious and easily accessible office on Manhattan's upper west side. I also meet with people over Skype for those who are in other countries or other places in the United States. I am also a speaker of Mandarin, Chinese. I work with both couples and individuals both short term and long term. I specialize in treating the foreign born and particularly those from Asian cultures but work also with many others on problems including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family problems, self esteem and work related stress. I work well with people who are reluctant to begin therapy. I am the former Coordinator of Counseling Service for Hunter College's International English Language Institute and also see many students from NYC universities. I am also a psychoanalyst and some people prefer to see me with greater frequency each week so that we can explore the inner life in more depth in order to achieve lasting and deep change.
