Hostility Bias, Paranoia and Malevolent Mentalising in Acquired Social Cognition Impairments following Brain Injury Zoom Seminar by Giles Yeates, DClinPsych
There is evidence across studies that emotion recognition and mentalising impairments in acquired neurological conditions are characterised by the emergence of paranoid states of mind, rather than indifference, neutral representations of others' intentions, or inaccurate but positive mentalisation errors. This trend is explored in this presentation through empirical data, brain injury psychotherapy case studies and the presenter's own collaborative research.
Bio: Dr Giles Yeates is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and Couples Therapist.
