Bio
After graduating from Wayne State University's graduate School of Social Work in 1975, I was hired by the Orchards Children's Services to serve as their Director of Professional Services. The Orchards, based in Livonia at that time, provided residental treatment for boys with serious emotional disturbances between the ages of 7-18. During my twelve years with the Orchards, I was directly involved and oversaw the expansion of the Orchards from one residential treatment home, to three homes. In addition, the Orchards developed a summer day camp at the Livonia site, and a foster care program.

My independent private practice was initiated in 1977, serving individuals and families in Oakland County. In 1991 I became a member of CHADD (Chidren and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorders, a national advocacy organization, with chapters in all 50 states. In 1996, I was nominated, and elected to serve on CHADD's national board of directors, a position that I held until 2000. At that time a national board member could only serve one 4-year term. I was also a member of the professional advisory board of Eastern Oakland County (Mich) during that period and for several years after I retired from the national board.
