A Practical Program To Decrease
the Physical and Psychological
Symptoms of Stress.

You can learn how to deeply relax and change your responses to stress.

Increase your sense of control and well being.

Learning and practicing skills to elicit the relaxation response is actually easy to do. Taking time to learn mindful relaxation will encourage your own innate capacity for health and wellness.

It has been shown repeatedly that relaxationtechniques can:

• Reduce hypertension.
• Diminish anxiety and fear.
• Increase feelings of well-being, comfort and control.
• Promote healing and recovery.
• Help with insomnia.
• Decrease symptoms of PMS.
• Decrease infertility.
• Help cope with hostility.
• Help to prepare for and relax during medical tests, procedures and treatments.
• Reduce pain and the use of pain medications.
• Reduce nausea/vomiting side effects of chemotherapy.

Education/Training
My M.A. degree is in Counseling Psychology, from Leslie College , and my B.A. degree is from Goddard College. I attended the 2 year Clinical Training program at The Center for Change in Burlington, VT. in 1981, and have clinical training with the programs of the Mind/Body Medical Institute of Boston. I am a certified teacher of the Guiding Good Choices, and the Staying Connected to Your Teen parent education programs. A former member of the Burlington Vermont Postpartum Task Force, I'm co-author of “Life After Childbirth: Making it Work for You,” a booklet containing information, resources, and worksheets about postpartum stress, mood disorders, and self care published by the Vermont Dept. of Health.
Bio
I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Psychotherapist located in Burlington, Vermont, working with individuals and couples since 1981. In a private confidential setting I offer supportive and practical psychotherapy services which are individually designed to address your concerns. My vision of the therapeutic process is as a path to find, activate, and encourage the innate capacity for health and wisdom we all possess. I work with and welcome adults of all ages, sexualities, and nationalities.

I see clients from all over Vermont and the Lake Champlain Valley area of New York including: Bolton, Buels Gore, Burlington, Charlotte, Colchester, Duxbury, Essex, Hinesberg, Huntington, Jericho, Milton, Monkton, Montpelier, Richmond, Shelburne, South Burlington, St. Albans, St. George, St. Johnsbury, Underhill, Westford, Williston, Winnooski, and beyond.
