I will accompany you in the challenges that you are facing. Through psychoanalysis, I offer a unique space for speech—confidential, non-judgmental—where you’re invited to say whatever comes to mind. I have considerable experience with a range of issues, with over a decade of clinical practice. Whether mental distress, changes in life, relationship difficulties or all of the above, each person’s process is unique, and I accompany you in following where your words lead—toward what has yet to be said or heard. Many people come to psychoanalysis when other approaches don't seem to change things, and something keeps insisting.
Together, we listen deeply to what’s said and unsaid, attending to the words, dreams, and repetitions that shape experiences—those moments that reveal something unconscious at work. This is not quick advice or symptom management, but a process that can transform how you relate to yourself and others. This process is about long-term change.
It can take courage to begin speaking freely, especially when you’re unsure what you’ll say or find. You don’t have to know where to start—just that something calls for attention is a beginning. In this work, every person’s experience is heard, valued, and dignified. If you’re ready to begin, I welcome you to reach out. |

Education |
Beyond my training as a clinical psychologist where I hold a PhD in psychology and a masters in clinical psychology, I am in clinical formation as a Psychoanalyst at the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis in Berkeley. |
Bio |
I bring over a decade of clinical experience accompanying people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Earlier in my career, I worked with Doctors Without Borders in Southern Africa, Somaliland, Turkey, and Lebanon, accompanying survivors of violence, displacement, and loss. I later served in South Africa’s public healthcare system, working in both inpatient psychiatry and community mental health. These experiences have deeply shaped my commitment to creating spaces where each person’s unique experience is heard, valued, and dignified.
In 2015, I established a private clinical practice in South Africa, where I worked as a psychologist accompanying individuals through a wide range of personal, relational, and existential challenges. I value the uniqueness of every encounter and the importance of each person telling their own story. My approach is pragmatic and grounded—meeting the moment as it is, while keeping an eye on what might yet emerge.
In recent years, I relocated to California with my family to care for my partner’s elders and to continue deepening my clinical practice through the study and practice of psychoanalysis. I am currently a member and psychoanalyst in formation at the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis. In transferring my professional registration to California, I practice as a Registered Psychological Associate (PSB 94029152) under the supervision of Dr. Fernando Castrillón, Psy.D. (PSY 24815) in Berkeley, California.
Alongside clinical work, I write and teach about psychoanalysis and community psychology, exploring how listening, speech, and subjectivity intersect with the social and political world. I also serve as a reviewer for the European Journal of Psychoanalysis and continue to be involved in projects concerned with ethics, ecology, and the human condition. |
