Christa Clarke, LPC, NCC, RPT
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist who specializes in working with children, adolescents and adults with the use of play and talk therapy. The mission of CK Counseling is to provide a safe and serene environment for children, adolescents and adults to share their inner most thoughts and feelings and provide the tools of communication, self esteem, and self awareness in order to establish a loving home environment.
Play Therapy utilizes the therapeutic powers of play to assist the therapist in helping clients prevent or resolve emotional/psychological difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development. For adults, an eclectic approach utilizing Client Centered and Choice Theory mainly.
Therapy can be overwhelming to a child and annoying to an adolescent. I use several creative therapeutic techniques which allow the client to express their thoughts and feeling in a non intrusive way. This fosters trust, confidence, and self awareness.

Bio
Finding a counselor that is right for you can be a difficult undertaking. Especially if you are in crisis.
I have experience working with individuals who have encountered difficult, traumatic, and self effacing issues. Working through those issues can be challenging and I am prepared to assist you on that journey.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Arizona (BA.Psych) and my master’s degree from Regis University (MA). My counseling career started while working with a non-profit agency in Denver that focused on adolescents who experienced trauma. I have a post graduate certification in child and adolescent therapy and am a registered Play Therapist. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association and am the past President of the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society chapter from Regis University.
Play Therapy is a unique therapeutic tool used not only for children but for adults as well. Though not my only form of therapy, I have a variety of therapeutic techniques tailored to the client: Including, Reality/Choice Theory, Gestalt, Humanistic, and Client-Centered Therapy.
