Play To Heal Child & Family Counseling "Play Is The Child's Language".
Play Therapy & Mindfulness Parent Therapy
“You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation". Plato Play is the child's language and play therapy is the path to understanding. We all seek to be understood. As a parent, do you find yourself reacting to versus understanding why or how your child's behavior and developmental needs may contribute? Play therapy and parenting mindfully turns even the most difficult moments with your child into an opportunity to highlight the message behind the action. The "therapeutic powers of play" provide children the opportunity experience healing as they explore and process their world in an environment that makes sense to them. Parents learn to attune to their child providing true understanding, support and connection.
Children and parents have the power to "pause" and chose their response. Mindful parenting allows you to be in the "moment" with your child. Think of the times as a child, when you felt invisible, neglected, worthless, experienced betrayal or violence. Play therapy offers your child a natural safe place to explore experiences, feelings, develop self understanding and coping skills. I work closely with parents to provide a meaningful connection to meet everyone's needs.ime, how often we say there is never enough time. What message are we sending our children? Being a mindful or conscious parent means not only being present with your child but asking for support when you need it. Just ask, I will advocate for and support your child at Special Education Meetings, review Individualized Education Plans, communicate with teachers, doctors and other professionals in your child's life.
