Education/Training
I graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ with an M.A. in addictions counseling, and proceeded to get licensed in FL as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have been in the counseling field for 14 years. I received a PhD in Clinical Sexology from Dr Granzig at Maimonides University, and extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Dr Arthur Freeman at the College of Osteophathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Practitioner, as well as a Certified Addictions Professional, Substance Abuse Professional for the Dept of Transportation, and Certified Employee Assistance Professional. I am a certified hypnotherapist and am trained in rapid trauma resolution.
Bio
I was born in Japan and raised overseas in countries such as Turkey, Korea, Hong Kong, Lebanon, Italy and Japan which has provided me with a deep understanding of various cultures, ways of life, people, and a rich education and knowledge which cannot be acquired from books. Upon returning to the USA I went on to get my Masters in Counseling, then the PhD in Clinical Sexology, and furthered my education as described below. I continue to travel to the Orient and Europe regularly as it is a second home to me. I always tell my clients in advance when I will be away and try not to be absent for more than one week to ten days at a time, yearly. I attend conferences regularly pertaining to my practice and this necessitates my being away for anywhere from two to four days at a time, a couple of times a year. Continuing education is important to me and I look for ways to increase my knowledge and experience with new research and practices which will help my clients.
