Joseph Alban’s approach to Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture works by correcting imbalances in the body. When your body regains it’s natural balance, you are healthier, and you feel better. The Alban Approach combines concepts of Chinese Medicine and Western Physiology to specifically target the root of your problem. This method is extremely effective for people with many types of chronic pain and illness, including back, neck, and shoulder pain, knee pain, chronic sinus headaches and migraines, chronic prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain syndrome, overactive bladder, fibromyalgia, eczema, hives, and acne, stress, anxiety, and others. His unique treatment may include acupuncture, herbs, tui na massage, tai chi, electric stimulation, cupping, and stretching.

Bio
Joseph Alban believes that combining a caring relationship with traditional treatment skills make for the most effective healing process. He completed a hospital residency at the First Traditional Chinese Medicine Teaching Hospital of the Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He trained with leading physicians in the acupuncture, Chinese Herbal medicine, and tui na (medical massage) departments. “In China I saw how the traditional doctors use both their clinical treatment skills and the clinical relationship to help their patients. This training still influences me today and remains the backbone of my practice.” Joseph uses acupuncture, tui na, and herbs to help patients living with chronic illness and pain.
In 2009-2010, Joseph received a prestigious training grant from the National Institutes of Health Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine research. He completed this training in the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Pediatric Allergy and Immunology department. His research focused on the holistic aspects of Chinese medicine to heal the whole person, by treating the main illness as well as addressing the depression and anxiety that often accompany it.
