Current practice includes play therapy with children & families in an outpatient private practice setting. I use a cooperative parenting model with divorcing families. I have previous experience on a crisis team, as well as child/adolescent/family work in agencies in VA & NC. I have facilitated groups in schools. I work from a child developmental perspective, and see children as young as 3 years old. I can easily refer clients to a therapist who may have different skills or a specialty niche (ex: treating autism or couples therapy) because I belong to several therapy networking groups.

I participate in the "Give An Hour" program available to military veterans.

I rent office space to a small number of therapists, and offer LCSW supervision on an individual basis. Renters and supervisees are responsible for establishing their own caseloads.

Education
My undergraduate degree is in social work and elementary education from the College of William & Mary in VA. I earned a master's degree in social work at Virginia Commonwealth University, with a certificate in infant/family early intervention.

I have trained in various methods of play therapy; divorce mediation; conflict resolution; cooperative parenting; working with military families; sexualized children; emotional freedom techniques; critical incident stress debriefing; anxiety & stress management, obsessive compulsive disorder; ADD/ADHD, and many other DSM-V disorders.
Bio
I was raised in a military family, living in various states and overseas. I spent my adult years in VA and moved to NC sixteen years ago. I am an avid reader, as you will see from my large collection of professional books, journals and children's books covering a wide variety of therapeutic issues.
